Why I am glad I chose EduCorp over Bull's Eye

This time, last year, I was faced with dilemma over which CAT institute to join. The choice was between Bull's Eye and EduCorp. After doing a bit of research, I joined EduCorp. A year later, I am glad I made that decision.
The amount of personal attention and the 1-on-1 mentoring in EduCorp is very good, whereas in Bull's Eye, nothing of such sort exists (At least, my friends who are there haven't got any). This mentoring not only includes doubts and problems but also keeps a check on your preparation, and analysis of your preparation and test results. This is something which I find very important as it prevents you from getting complacent and keeps you focused.
The quality of teaching is much better. The faculty namely Amit Hans, Vikas Dahiya & Sumit Khanna are well experienced and teach in a lucid and friendly manner. At Bull's Eye, most of my friends are not satisfied with the teachers and tend to shift batches in hope of getting better teachers.
EduCafe - the online forum EduCorp launched for its students not only guarantees your 1-on-1 mentoring but also has cool features like Book Club, GK Updates, CAT Lexicon, Speak to your Mentor and Discussion forums.
With no placement in sight, CAT seems the only choice. I have made the right decision in joining the right institute, let's hope I make good and get into a good B-School.

SEO using Social Bookmarking.

At the start of my vacations, I had thought of earning money through Subvert & Profit.
Through Subvert & Profit, you can earn money by social bookmarking the pages they give you.
In the beginning, you have to go through a tiresome process of creating new accounts in various bookmarking sites such as digg, delicious, mixx, newswine, diigo, myspace, propeller etc.
I don't think Subvert & Profit works because they haven't sent me a single page to digg or whatever. But, since now I have accounts in all these sites, I can easily bookmark my blog posts at these sites :)
Following up, I installed AddThis button to my posts. So everytime I post something new, I use the addthis button to bookmark my post at all these sites. Cool, huh?!
And the result is better ranking in Google Search. After I bookmarked it, my post was on the first page for "work ex cat" search.
Link building using Social bookmarking is essential for higher ranking in search results.

Work Ex in CAT

There's this anxiety among freshers that CAT selection will be difficult this time around. This because of a no. of individuals who have work ex will give it too. Some of them are out of jobs. Some of them did not get their appraisals and want to leave their jobs.

It got me thinking, if these people where really intelligent and valuable to the company, would they have been fired in the first place. I mean, the best have probably been retained by the companies to get them through this tough phase.
Why should we be scared of them when we don't even know whether they are good enough?

Secondly, can we really do anything about it? So, why worry about something that we have no control over. Rather than worrying about them, we should focus on our own preparation. Work ex does count, I agree, but so does our CAT score. What use is work ex if you can't get the score required to get a call.

So, hit the books, prepare hard. You're gonna squash all the work ex guys.

Things I will do..

I know.. I know... I have been posting alot of lists.. but heres one more

  1. Gym
  2. Study for CAT
  3. Make a website CATGuru.in in an effort to learn about how web hosting, internet marketing and Joomla work  Study for CAT
  4. Earn money online through Subvert and Profit and bux.to  Study for CAT
  5. Study for CAT
I have realised that I squander time on piffling matters rather than the consequential ones. Henceforth, I will not waste time and work harder.

Things I am thinking of doing..

  1. Gym
  2. Study for CAT
  3. Make a website CATGuru.in in an effort to learn about how web hosting, internet marketing and Joomla work
  4. Earn money online through Subvert and Profit and bux.to

An year later, I am back

Well, it’s been a year since I last blogged, and boy as my life changed.
And I only did about 3 of the things that I mentioned in the last post.
1. Gym.
2. Update the template of the blog.
3. Joined EduCorp.
So whats new? Recession.
And because of recession, we are going to have little or no placements.
So, I am preparing for CAT.
With people losing jobs and no recruiting on CAT, supposedly the toughest exam in the world is going to get tougher this year. But I’m not worried coz I m a stud. ;)
What else?
Ooohhh… I upgraded my PC, now it boasts of 3.16 GHz Intel dual core, 2 GB RAM and 160 GB HDD plus I also got my old 80 GB hard disk portablized. But, the major upgradation was an NVIDIA 9800 GT Graphics Card. Cool… huh.

See you till the next post.
